Individualistic Approach/Positive Common Correlation Theory

Get more out of your players!
TEAM MANAGEMENT & PRACTICE ENHANCEMENT
An increase in team compatibility, passion/effort, and hard work can be objectively measured and accounted for during this process.
A theory which argues that implementing *individualistic approach strategies create a positive structural deviation pattern ( from ones previous coaching dynamics system) which results in increased performance and team enhancement/improvement when applied significantly.
A positive common correlation between overall individual improvement and team performance can be identified when viewing the “ base “, against the newly implemented coaching methods if successful results were obtained.
Base: old or current coaching methods, strategies, and style.
Underlying Component : Action repetition+accountability ✅
Every coach should have a vision, expectation, and system by which they guide and prepare their players for competition.
In theory : coaching/desired practice plans remain true to self and/or program, however, a positive structural
( the structure being your system or methods for coaching ) deviation (changes in usual practice dynamic) can be seen overtime when implementing an individualistic approach for specific athletes, usually resulting in optimization of team practice and overall player improvement. ( can also be seen with team as a whole depending on What is being enforced ) Ex: Specific Drills or Training
EXPECTED RESULTS
A positive change in practice dynamic is gradually achieved, creating a noticeable deviation from previous coaching style. [ especially when key players possess great leadership characteristics ]
Note: individual/team challenges, goal setting, note taking, stat viewing, and discipline reinforcement techniques ARE necessary if you WANT TO BE MOST SUCCESSFUL ✅
Deviation is witnessed by the coach whom is implementing the newly learned strategies/player targeted coaching methods. Change can be seen, felt, or known. GROWTH IS SEEN ‼️
Notice : Significant improvement takes place.
Reflection and understanding ones own strategies alongside the individualistic approach is a MUST.
Did I change for the better ? Do I notice a difference ? Is this working for my team? How can I get more out of practice? Out of my players?

Reflective Self Questioning Is Important
A coach must know their players sufficiently for this to work effectively. HOW WELL DID YOU SCOUT ? HOW REVEALING WERE YOUR TRYOUTS? DO YOU KNOW YOUR TEAMS WEAK AND STRONG POINTS?
NOTICE : This is NOT meant to change current coaching style, IT IS ONLY meant to enhance it, if applied correctly.
CONSIDERABLE FACTORS OF A PLAYER
Personality, Position, Role, Forte, “Skill”, Verbal/Non-verbal efforts, game-time IQ, Accountability, Team Player-ship, etc ( can you give certain players a little more freedom? Why or why not ? )
•only if freedom of play "style" or form does not contradict or take away from disciplinary responsibilities and expected behavior. ( Ex: 🏀 hands up on defense, defensive stance is for EVERYONE.)
•style of play and output must support a benefit which the team or coaches actively support.
•anything on the verge of defiant behavior and lack of discipline should be handled accordingly and not viewed as “ style of play”.
IMPORTANT : IDENTIFY & IMPLEMENT THE “NO EXCEPTIONS & NON-NEGOTIABLE “ EXPECTATIONS EARLY, from the START!
ESTABLISH/ENFORCE TEAM UNISON
: a sense of togetherness, win or lose.
Ex: Everyone stretches together as a team after games, no exceptions.
🗓
HOW TO RECOGNIZE PROGRESS
Ask Yourself: "How was the practice flow and intensity like before? V.S how the team is executing currently."
An upward slope on improvement can be distinguished over time 📈
*Individualistic approach strategies- strategies implemented for the individual development of a player based on their abilities, capabilities, and ideal responsibilities/role.
THIS DOES NOT COMPROMISE OR TAKE AWAY FROM THE TEAM AS A WHOLE!
It should only help to enhance player performance and team productivity.
Developmental strategies are discussed prior to season in individual meetings, mandatory meetings, and when expectations are set.
This is NOT an on-sight task ‼️
NOTE: Planning, coordination, & communication is done ahead of time per usual.
REQUIRES: Team AND individual based needs are measured during planning and adjustments can be made during the implementation phase.
*Expected to work with groups and distinct positions subsequently.
Player Optimization: Get The Most Out Of Your Athletes Potential
KEY FACTORS : spoken or written communication of the athletes viewpoint of self-contribution, skill level, discipline, athleticism, desire to improve, work ethic, coach-ability.
Why Demanding MORE From One Player Than Another Is OK!
1) Not all players are the same, use it to your advantage.
2) EVERYONES POSITION IS NOT THE SAME!
Each player is responsible for maximum effort, but not every player can be expected to reach the same level of play as others. Train them accordingly MORE.
Ex:🏐 DS V.S OH, 🏀 PG V.S POST ⚽️ Goalie V.S mid-field V.S forward, etc.
“Victory or defeat is not determined at the moment of crisis, but rather in the long and unspectacular period of preparation.”
